About the Infectious Disease Control Training Centre, Hospital Authority
The Infectious Disease Control Training Centre (IDCTC) was founded as an aftermath of the outbreak of SARS in 2003. The key objective of setting up IDCTC was to provide health care staff with additional training to maintain and enhance their expertise in infectious disease control in the hospital setting.
Through the delivery of regular briefings, refresher workshops, and commissioned training program, the ultimate goal of IDCTC is to bring about a structure and culture in the organization that would be able to facilitate and to sustain the continuous learning and enhancement in infection control and infectious disease management.
With the successful foundation work, IDCTC will take up the strategic role on provision of programme based, intervention training on corporate clinical initiatives for long term combat of infectious diseases and infection control.
